Visual (Digital Video Camera, Security IR Camera, IR Digital)-
Often times paranormal activity can be found through devices
such as camcorders that the human eye cannot capture. These
devices are useful for recording paranormal activities. Such
activities can be apparitions, mist, orbs, etc. Often the
evidence will not be found in this equipment until after the
investigation is completed and you can review your data. It
also allows you document your investigation for later review.
In this way it is possible to evaluate techniques and
procedures that may or may not need changing. It should be
noted that although most modern camcorders are equipped with
infrared nightshot, the infrared emitter built into the camera
is not sufficient for recording beyond a five foot range. There
are however, a wide range of infrared lamps and boosters
available on the market. In a pinch, you can even use a
television remote as a rudimentary IR flashlight!
Advanced Use-
It is recommended that you use higher grade visual equipment,
this will help cut down on mis-representations of paranormal
activity. Often times lenses can get dust, moisture, and other
impairments that may look like orbs, etc while filming or
taking photographs. Higher grade equipment does not blur as
easily, reduces noise from shaking, and often has lens shake
which clears the lens of any debris.
